We all know what Pez candy is. Pez is a candy dispenser that dispenses brick-shaped candy. But did you know that even Pez had a beginning, too? Believe it or not, Pez is very old! We all know what it looks like now, but it has evolved! In 1927, Austrian businessman E. Haas wanted to create a breath mint dispenser for adults.
After he created small, round peppermint candies to be sold in tins, he needed a catchy name for the candy. So he said, “Hmm, I need a good name for these. Oh, how ‘bout Pez!” And just like that, Pez was born. I know, cool, right?
By 1955, Pez introduced new flavors like Lemon, Orange, and Strawberry to appeal to kids. This year, Pez has introduced new Peeps and Hello Kitty Collections
and will expand its Minecraft collection with new dispensers.
