Honoring the contributions of diverse cultures in the Lehigh Valley

By Melissa Baltazar February 6, 2025

February is Black History Month—a time to honor the incredible contributions of Black Americans to our history, culture, and community. Here in Allentown, we’re celebrating by shining a spotlight on Black-owned businesses, entrepreneurs, and events that make our city vibrant and strong!

All month long, Macaroni KID Allentown will be highlighting local Black-owned businesses, movers and shakers, and family-friendly events in Allentown and surrounding areas. From must-visit restaurants and boutiques to inspiring community leaders, we’re bringing you the best of what our area has to offer.

Do you know a Black-owned business, an outstanding entrepreneur, or an event we should feature? We want to hear from you! Send us your recommendations so we can share and support these amazing individuals and businesses.

Why celebrate Black History Month? Because Black history is American history. It’s about recognizing the resilience, brilliance, and achievements of Black individuals who have shaped our past and are building our future. It’s also a great opportunity to teach our kids about diversity, inclusion, and the power of community.

Stay tuned for our weekly highlights and let’s make this a month of learning, support, and celebration. Together, we can uplift and empower the Black voices that make Allentown shine!

Know someone we should feature? Send us a message—we’d love to connect!
